Take a closer look at our outdoor photography exhibition Guide to Computing by Docubyte this summer, from 5 - 29 August. Selected from a growing body of work, the exhibition reflects the development of computer design from the post-war years through to the early days of technology's integration into everyday life. Photographed head-on then placed onto bright, monochrome backgrounds, each device gains contemporary reference and relevance through the use of saturated and sumptuous colour. Furthermore, the contrasting shades of each interface highlight elements of graphic design and reinforce the anonymity of today's software-based input and touch screen devices. In addition, since some of the machines pre-date colour photography, the digitally restored machines are presented in new and unseen formats, restored and returned to their original styles. Existing mainly in museums or as collectors' items, each computer included has been located by Docubyte for this ongoing project. To be in with a chance of winning a print from Guide to Computing by Docubyte, why not share a picture of you on social media at one of our events and tag us @RegentsPlace using #LifeMeetsTech.
