Hopscotch Asian Women’s Shelter is a local community centre funded by the Camden Council, the Cabinet Office for Civil Society and John Lyon’s Charity. Based in Hampstead Road, they provide support for a large local Asian population.
They provide support services for Asian women and their families for social and domestic issues including:
- Domestic violence
- Welfare benefits
They run several programmes and group events to bring members of the community together and deal with issues affecting society.
The “Women into Work Programme” is run for Asian women over the age of 19 who are unemployed, on welfare benefits and have the right to train and work in the UK. This programme offers key skills training (communication, confidence building, problem solving and team work). They can also provide social care training.
They also host a social night fortnightly for Asian women over 50.
