Summer of Sport is a campaign running through the summer here at Regent’s Place. We are  holding events, encouraging participation and broadcasting the major sporting events of the summer on our very own big screen.

The screen was placed on the Regent’s Place Plaza on Monday 24th June 2013, just in time for the Wimbledon Fortnight. Every game on the screen generated masses of spectators during their lunch break and even after work had finished and it was time to go home they stayed. Around 250 workers of all types gathered around the screen in Regents Place Plaza for the men’s semi-final day from lunch all the way through until the end of Andy Murray’s victory over Polish rival Jerzy Janowicz at 9:30pm.

We are extremely proud of the efforts put into this campaign and are very pleased the warm reception it has received. One of our followers tweeted “Hats off to @RegentsPlace for putting big screen up for Wimbledon fortnight. Cracking atmosphere for Andy Murray's victory tonight too.”

We will be screening events such as the Tour de France, The Golf Open and Athletics World Championships as part of the ‘Summer of Sport’ campaign. The screen has been a huge success so far and should only get more popular as its audience get behind their nation for other sporting events.

Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events.
