Join us on Time To Talk Day (6 February), where we bring a panel of successful freelancers to share tips and discuss how you can create a career that works for you, whilst maintaining good mental health. 

Get ready to be inspired and take your career to the next level. We've teamed up with The Authentic Project to bring you a motivating discussion where the our panelists will discuss how they have created successful businesses and share tips and tricks to maintain a healthy and positive mindset to help others daring to go at it alone, feel supported and able to thrive in the unpredictable world of 'the freelance life'.

With more people feeling unsatisfied with their 'day job', there has been a surge in people wanting to take control of their careers and create a life that works for them. Our wonderful panel have done just that and have created successful businesses from nothing, dared to go at it alone, and are living a life that works for them.

What to expect?

An inspiring conversation with a brilliant panel. We'll be hearing all about their stories and how they have created a career that works for them, with time for you to ask questions. Following the panel discussion, there'll be an opportunity for networking and drinks with like-minded and creative others. Your ticket includes a goody bag filled with healthy snacks. 

Who's on our panel?

Steve Munroe
After 10 years of working for the United Nations from Uzbekistan to Cambodia to Sudan, Steve Munroe made the ultimate sacrifice and moved to Bali…where his family’s one year sabbatical turned into a 9 year stay. There is founded Hubud, the world’s first destination workplace where thousands of people have come to create more meaningful careers for themselves. Currently he works for British Land/Storey exploring how to create vibrant communities at scale, and still produces CU Asia, Asia Pacific’s largest coworking conference so he has an annual excuse to escape the London winter.

Abubaker Salim
Having recently been selected as one of BAFTAs Breakthrough Brits, Abubakar Salim will soon be seen starring in the coveted role of 'Father' in Ridley Scott's 10 part sci-fi drama series RAISED BY WOLVES, which has recently finished shooting in South Africa. This highly anticipated TNT series revolves around two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet.

In 2018, Salim was nominated for a British Academy Games Award for Best Performer for his role as the main protagonist Bayek on Ubisoft’s ASSASSIN’S CREED ORIGINS. On British television, Salim starred in the period drama JAMESTOWN as well as a recurring role in the Sam Mendes produced BBC/Amazon series INFORMER. He also played a leading role in the mini-series FORTITUDE for Sky opposite Dennis Quaid. His other credits include BLACK MIRROR, the Netflix/Canal Plus drama series SPOTLESS, and Jonah in the BBC adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s THE CUCKOO’S CALLING.

Lorna Gibson
Lorna is an illustrator who goes by the name of Toots Design. Since leaving her graduate job ten years ago, she has travelled overseas teaching skiing and spent her long winter evenings developing her career as an illustrator. She’s now focusing full time on writing and illustrating children’s books. Lorna strongly believes that you can make the greatest difference to the world by finding and doing the thing that makes you the happiest, even if that requires numerous stumbles along the way.
