International Women's Day 2020

Celebrate the first International Women's Day of the new decade with a unique series of The Sessions at Regent's Place.

The theme for IWD 2020 is 'an equal world is an enabled world', encouraging everyone to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality.

If you would like to be part of the conversation there are three free workshops taking place in March where you can learn better self-care techniques from a chartered psychologist, self defence moves or how to improve your nutrition (wellness boosting lunch included). 

All workshops are open to all and free to attend.

The Art of Self-Care for Women with Suzy Reading
Wednesday 4 March, 6.15-8pm
For the first of our International Women's Day series we welcome author and leading chartered psychologist Suzy Reading to talk about the crucial need for self-care for women. During this talk Suzy will share different techniques on how to reclaim time for daily nourishment for both mind and body to better manage stress and to boost resilience.

Gender Equality Exhibition by Netley Primary School and Centre for Autism
Monday 9 - Tuesday 10 March, 8am-3.30pm daily
The exhibition includes STEAM projects by children from a range of ages and experiences, with contributions by parents and professionals who speak about their career pathways, and how they overcame stereo-typical barriers to achieve their ambitions.

Female Nutrition Workshop (Lunch Included)
Wednesday 11 March,12.30-1.20pm
Learn how to find a healthy balance in your routine through nutrition and forward planning. Explore the roles protein, carbs and fats have within the body and the importance of blood sugar on your hormonal balance. The workshops will be led by Michelle from New Body & Soul and will include a talk, planning and a delicious healthy lunch.

Women's Self Defence
Wednesday 11 March, 5.30-6.30pm
Come along and learn a new life skill while enhancing your confidence and personal power. Our trained instructor will guide you through different physical and non-physical moves and techniques as well as learning about the importance of body awareness, body language, assertiveness and more.
